William Shatner sings Harry Chapin's "Taxi"

I just found this for the first time today -- don't ask me how and why -- but I now consider it possible his finest hour as a singer. Seriously.

1994 NIT Champion Villanova Wildcats part three

The great coach of Villanova's 1994 NIT Championship team was Steve Lappas, pictured here at right with your humble Dugout manager at left. Steve had been an assistant coach at Villanova earlier in his career (including the 1985 NCAA Championship squad) and I was honored to re-connect with Steve and his family during our 15th anniversary reunion this past Saturday.

Villanova 1994 NIT Champions part two

Among the great players from Villanova's 1994 NIT Championship team in attendance at the 15th anniversary brunch was Kerry Kittles (above right), pictured with yours truly (at left). It was a pleasure to see him, and his team mates, for the first time in a long time.

Salute to 1994 Villanova Basketball NIT Champions, part one

This past Saturday, February 7th, Villanova University invited members of the team and support staff from the 1994 NIT Champion Wildcat men's basketball squad to attend the Villanova-Syracuse game at the Wachovia Center. It was a wonderful day, with a chance to be reunited with some people I haven't seen in many, many years. It was an honor to reconnect with Jonathan Haynes, Chuck Kornegay, Jason Lawson, Kerry Kittles, Eric Eberz, and many more, as well as the coach of that great team, Steve Lappas. My wife shot this photo, of me on the scoreboard (!) when they introduced the 1994 NIT Champions at center court during halftime of the 'Cats game. I cannot tell you how emotional I still am about this day, and I am grateful that I was invited.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Not only did the Groundhog see his shadow today, signalling six more weeks of winter, but Donovan McNabb saw his shadow as well, signalling yet another year of mediocre NFL football in Philadelphia...Oh, well, congratulations to the Pittsburgh Steelers on an exciting win in the Super Bowl...Pitchers and catchers report in 12 days!
