Let's try for a quick update since my last Dugout entry, which was just around the time Milt Thompson was fired as the Phillies batting coach...Guess that worked out...Got the chance to return to Hamilton, Bermuda again for our anniversary...In spite of hurricanes on all sides...still a slice of heaven for us...Michael Douglas should have stayed there instead of coming to NYC to film Wall Street 2, he might be healthier today...Caught lots of Phillies games live & in person, as well as on the tube and on the radio (and discovered how to use my Blackberry properly for scores and radio finally)...Congrats to my favorite Philadelphia pro sports team on winning the East for a 4th straight year...Got to see "The Other Guys," which I enjoyed, passing on "Wall Street 2" until it shows up on cable (at this rate should be on Showtime by X-mas)...Working hard but it's hardly working right now -- some issues here and there but hey, wait until the checks clear...If I pull off the one radio booking I have been working on all summer in early October I'm just about ready to retire...ANYWAY...I miss Norm MacDonald and Artie Lange on a regular basis...Absolutely amazing interview with Garry Shandling in last month's GQ, and a great piece on the making of "Good Fellas" this month in the same magazine...Comic books are rapidly becoming my bete noir -- almost ready to drop the whole genre, in favor of the eventual trade paperback collections...TV-wise, LOVING the new "Hawaii Five-O," devouring each episode of "Mad Men," agree with Michael "The Savage Nation" Savage that "Boardwalk Empire" is unwatchable, loved the season premieres of "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Community," going to have to watch the return of "Eastbound & Down" at least one more time before passing my judgement, same for "Bored to Death," but realizing how very much I still enjoy "Flight of the Conchords" and "Extras"...Just bought the first DVD set of "The Larry Sanders Show," the "best of" collection with the DVD commentaries, and can't wait to get started watching them again...And may I add, if you are in a twisted mood some night, watch the new David Cross show on IFC -- caught the first episode and I can't wait to see what's next...Well, until Bobby Cox loses out to Charlie Manual as Manager of the Year, I'll see you in the stands!
